Location in Spain is selected – we will digitalise the underground wine cellars of Trigueros del Valle (Valladolid)

After the successful collection of 15 answers to our questionnaire sent around to our indirect target group, the decision is taken – the underground wine cellars of Trigueros del Valle in Valladolid will be digitalised.

Evaluation the answers, the urgent need to integrate digital solutions to make rural heritage accesible, democratise access and promote inclusion was highlighted. Many rural places are inaccessible due to architectural barriers while also lacking a digital presence. Presenting only limited online information and the absence of pictures or virtual tours.

As main challenges in gaining more accessibility the following points were identified:
– improving access infrastructure (roads, public transportation, etc.)
– designing inclusive experineces for individuals with reduced mobility or sensory disablities
– increasing investments and aid to small municipalities to enhace their heritage.

Participants emphasised the need for new technologies to convey the same passion and sensations experienced by people without limitations when visiting spaces like underground wine cellars.

To select the site to be digitalised, the tradition and culture, scenic beauty and uniqueness of architecture was analysed for the proposed places for digitalisation. Among all proposed locations for digitalisation, places in Castilla y León associated with history, heritage and rural toursim stood out. From these places, the undergroup wine cellar of Trigueros del Valle (Valladolid) was selected.

We are looking forward to make this place accessible to allow everyone to enjoy its beauty and heditage.
